One Little Word 2017

Hey there! Im like a month behind with this blog thing but thats ok I'm going to catch up!
So Hello 2017!
My One Little Word for 2017 is Flow!
If you have never heard about One Little Word you can find out about it here!
I had had another word that was calling my name but then I was listening to this podcast and I was taking down one of the trees and this word just hit me. Instantly it felt so good.
Every time I think of it, it makes me take a breath, it instantly calms me and it just feels right.
Even just looking at this photo I feel calmer and less stressed.
So I've ditched the word that was striving and pushing for things to happen and have decided to just go with the flow and be in my flow this year.

Christmas Challenge #50: Party Favour Boxes

I am finishing up my Christmas Challenge with this final #50 post. My original goal was to make 100 things this Christmas and I definitely achieved that! Although I didn't share everything here on my blog I am happy enough that I made it to fifty posts!
Realistically I made three advent calendars and many ornaments, cards and gifts. I ended up making a lot of ornaments that I didn't get to share here, making them so close to giving them was tricky and also made a pile of ornaments that my mum bought off of me and gave to her friends, they went before I had a chance to photograph them but I wasn't going to say no to a little extra money ;)
I ended up making these little gift boxes with my silhouette and then adding a little stamp from Ali Edwards, a star, a flower and some sequins which I added a few little choccies to. I also had a bunch of these Maggie Beer sparkling Chardonnay which I added a few things to  the top to make it a little more special.

Christmas Challenge#49: Advent Calendar

Our Third Advent Calendar was such a fun treat to have over Advent. I loved taking a carob bear out everyday and some tea and sitting down to enjoy it was the best. The calendar was hangging on our bedroom door which gave a fun jingly sound everytime the door was opened and closed because I had quite a few bells on the bags.
I simply tied some tinsel to the door and then used fun pegs to attach each bag to the tinsel, this worked really well, none of them fell of!
Many nights we had our advent treat whilst putting together a Christmas Puzzle which was the best!
So I will leave you this time with a few close ups :)

Christmas Challenge #48: Snow Globes

These snow globes were a super last minute gift that we made for my mum a couple of days before Christmas. My boys had a ball making them!
I picked up the snow globes at spotlight for just a few dollars and they worked out perfectly. I love that these don't have any water in them so they are super dooper easy to make.
We just took photos of the boys, printed them out, cut around them, laminated them and then hot glued them to the base of the globe. The boys made trees to go in the background then they filled the globe with a bunch of glitter and  stars.
I ended up making another one that had both the boys in one snow globe that I am going to keep. They were definitely well received and my mum hasn't put them away yet!

Christmas Challenge #47 : Joy Ornament

Ive been playing a lot with my die cutting machine, its probably the thing that has changed my crafting the most this year! It's so much fun to play with and I just can get enough of playing with paper and felt in it! Just look how nicely it cuts felt!!!
Ive just used a circle die to create this bauble shape, I think I hand cut the green bit at the top of the bauble and then I used an Ali Edwards die that says joy to pop on the front . The joy word has a heat adhesive on the back of it which just peeled off and then ironed onto the bauble, so easy and didnt even need stitching!
A flower, a bell and a bit of ribbon finish of this little gift ornament!
Oh felt I love you!

Christmas Challenge # 46: December Daily first pages

My first December Daily page is a page that is actulally the last day of November so I have kind of added it in before the beginning of the rest of the album. My son had his christmas party a little early thiis year and it would normally fall in december and I have documented it in past December albums so I really wanted to still include it!
I also used this amazing set of stamps called slim jim by Kellie Stamps. I love these stamps so so much, I think they are set to become a staple in my stamp collection. I love that they are so versitle. I am wanting to play with colouring them in and embossing with them!!
I kept the opposite page just really simple and just stuck down the hello twinkle onto some of the paper that cam in the kit!

Christmas Challenge #45: December Daily Cover and Intentions

Phew I am finally getting this up here! So this is my December Daily Album. This year I went with a traditional look and I got the main kit and two other kits, you can find out all about December Daily here from its creator Ali Edwards!
I'm only just finishing up on my December Daily from last year, I still have Christmas day and boxing day to go but other than that I mostly did it during December last year, isn't it amazing how the year can get away from us! eeek!
I added some glitter felt on the front cover and added the word twinkle because our theme for this year is 'The sound of Stars'.

I have kept the inside cover page very simple and then I have added my intentions to the front cover so that I can see them there all December. I'm hoping that helps to keep them in the front of my mind.

I'm so glad to be doing December Daily again this year, it really does help to focus your attention on the joy that is the December season. I hope that I always find the joy this season!
