Spring Wreath.

I've been a little absent here in September, I had a lot of changes going on in our little home including my husband working from home quite a bit and my boys being sick. Its been quite an adjustment for me and though I love having them all here it has made my normal routines a bit of a mess.
Anyway there has still been crafting happening here! There is always crafting happening here!
I have this white wreath hanging on my door since christmas and I had thought that it would be a lovely wreath to be able to change up with the seasons. Since it is spring here I wanted to add some colourful flowers and make it look happy and bright.
I simply bought a couple of cheap bunches of flowers from the cheap store and  pulled them apart by twisting the wire until I broke the stems apart. I have my pretty scissors here but I didn't end up using them because I didn't want to ruin them, some snippy pliers (very technical term, ha haa) would be much better but as I said I ended up just twisting them until the wire broke off.
Then I simply wound the flowers into the wreath. I guess I could have hot glued them but I want to be able to change this up for christmas so winding them in means that I will be able to pull them out and it has been enough to keep them put.
This was a fun project and was finished in about 10 minutes and then hung straight back up on my front door.
For just a few dollars I have a pretty colourful wreath, springy and happy. Especially nice since it hasn't stopped bucketing down here and we have had storms and flooding in little old south Australia ;)

Painting

Its school holiday time here and I've had a little more time to do some fun things. I was feeling like my crafty mojo had left me but it came back just in time for school holidays
So I've been playing with paint, which is always fun! In my younger years I did an advanced diploma in Visual Arts and when I went there I had hoped to learn to paint better but I ended up doing ceramics as my major. Yes I can make you a ceramic bowl too :-) Anyway its been a really long time since I have put paintbrush to paper for anything a little more serious.
Truthfully I stopped creating paintings because I didn't like anything that I painted and that got really frustrating. Of course I love to play with paint and colour on smaller projects but I hadn't done anything of this size for a long long time.
It was lovely to create something in just a few hours and not take myself too seriously, just let it be what it is. Its not elegant, its not perfectly painted but it does make me happy. It does have polka dots on it so how could it not make me happy haa!
I also made two smaller paintings but I really struggled because I only had a large paintbrush here. They are cute anyway. Have you painted anything lately? It is so much fun to put paint to paper.

On My Table: Flowers

I have had an abundance of flowers lately which is a little unusual because usually most of the flowers in my home come straight from my garden. But with this long summer there really isn't any flowers in my garden.
My lovely friend Nell (hi Nell!) gave me some of the most gorgeous roses from her garden and they were just divine, they smelt divine too and they reminded me so much of my Nana, she used to love flowers too and she always would have flowers on her dining room table and around her home from her garden. My Grandfather used to grow her roses and  all sorts of other flowers but I always remember him growing her sweet peas and it was so sweet of him because they used to give him hay fever and make him sneeze.
I'd also stumbled across these roses at my local supermarket and just had to treat myself!
The other night my hubby came home with another bunch of flowers just to make my day a little more pink! Oh I have been spoilt but it is always so lovely to be a little spoilt!!

A peek into my bedroom

I thought today I would give you a little look in to my bedroom mostly because I am a little nosy myself and I love to see other bloggers spaces especially craft spaces and bedrooms they have to be my favorite!I know I have a lot of pink in our bedroom and I have to say,Yes I do have the loveliest husband who just wants me to be happy and that means some pink!
So I just bought this Ikea spotty quilt cover because my old one was starting to fall apart and I had been searching for some time for a polka dot quilt cover this one ended up satisfying most of my wants. You know you have to add polka dots to the pink, so happy!
I have some cute little pink lights hanging in our bedroom and the dream catcher I made, I love having it hanging here in our bay window it just makes me so happy
In the bay window I have a small desk with my laptop on and also a few other pretty things. My planner usually lives here too.
On the opposite wall to the bed right now I have a bunch of flowers and a candle, these are the spaces that I love to change up frequently and try to keep it fresh.
So there you have it a little peek into my bedroom.
Do you like to change things up in your bedroom, do you ever have fresh flowers?

On My Table

I've set up a little table in the space in my front bay window in our bedroom. And I've been really enjoying it, its a sweet spot to sit and write and look out onto our front yard and neighboring paddocks. and as a bonus its a nice little spot to have a little break from my boys these holidays.
So I picked some flowers from my back garden and put them in a vase and they have been on my table ever since. Along with some sparkling water, tea of course and some pens and stickers.
I love making life a little more pretty, the colours of the flowers are just so beautiful and vibrant.
So whats on your table today?
