She Scraps: water colour hearts and die cut tags

So I have decided to join in on the 200 day project! I heard about it last year but was too late to jump on the bandwagon so when it rolled around this year I figured that I had to jump on board. Basically for the next hundred days I will be sharing a photo over on instagram of something crafty. My aim is to be over on instagram more- I haven't been posting as much as I would like to and I want to change that! You can follow along here! So this is my day 2 photo!
This was such a fun one to make! I started with just painting hearts with watercolours on the back ground. I love how fun and colourful they are!
I also used my die cutting machine to create a bunch of tags to use on this layout. I love making my own stuff to use on my lay outs. Also its a great way to use up the stash!
Also added some cute little embellishments that I had made with my gorgeous scrappy friend Elise!
It always feels good to create doesn't it!

She Scraps-Best Nine 2016

I thought It would be cool to create a scrapbook layout of my best nine to pop into the end of my 2016 Album, it will be a nice way to finish off the album with some of the things that I loved to make this year! I'm still yet to go through my 2016 album and decide what still needs to be completed and what is already completed. I've kind of just moved on to 2017 and forgotten all about 2016 lol!
I really loved all of the photos that made it into my best nine, I love how colourful they are and apart from the tea they were also some of my favourite projects that I completed in 2016.
With so many pictures I kept the design fairly simple and just matted each photo with some pretty paper and then embellished with a few bits and bobs. I think this will make a great last page for my album!

She Scraps- Acrylic and Die Cutting

So I dont know but I think I may be addicted to scrapbooking selfies of my hubby and me. Even more now that he has that beard, I mean come on that is one SERIOUS beard! This beard has totally a life of its own and is talked about almost wherever it goes, what makes my hubby happy makes me happy!
I have been putting my die cutter to use to create some fun colourful flowers. I started by mixing some acrylics and then just painting the colours onto some white card stock, once they were dry I popped them through the die cutter and created a bunch of them that could be layered on my page.
I hand cut the leaves and added some enamel dots to the flowers to finish them off. I am loving how colourful this layout ended up being!
The black and white flower paper is cocoa vanilla, the tiny words are freckled fawn and I have just done some hand lettering for the title. I am always happy when there are lots of handmade elements to a page!

She Scraps- Valentines Day

Since Valentines day has just been and gone I have been in the mood to scrap some lovey things. Of course I am probably always in that mood but hey it is a good excuse to put 'I love you' on a page!
I had this idea to create a page with something that looks like those candies that you get for valentines day. So I ended up using my silhouette to create these love hearts. I simply found a heart shape and then added some text to the middle of them and cut them. Once cut I coloured them with my water colour paints. Originally I put some matching paper behind the heart for the text but I didn't love it so I went back in a coloured them with my water colour paints in just a bit darker shade.
The black/grey background paper is a close to my heart paper and then I just matted the photo with a bunch of scraps from my scrap box. There are some coco vanilla embellishments and some freckled fawn ones mixed in there too.
Only one problem: I only recently scrapped this one but the photo is from October last year, so do I add it to this years album or lasts? Eeeek!

She Scraps!

I've been playing with paper again. This time adding in some handmade embellishments that I created with watercolour paints and coloured pencils.
I love creating my own embellishments, I love that you can make them whatever size and colour that fits your layout. To make these flowers and leaves I just drew them on a seperate piece of paper, I drew lots of them and then coloured them, once they were dry I simply cut them out added a bit of extra coloured pencil and then arranged them how I wanted them.
I also hand stitched the green circle to create a wreath design. I added papers from coco vanilla and those little butterflies were also from there.
Ahhh paper and paint, I love playing with you!

Christmas Challenge # 46: December Daily first pages

My first December Daily page is a page that is actulally the last day of November so I have kind of added it in before the beginning of the rest of the album. My son had his christmas party a little early thiis year and it would normally fall in december and I have documented it in past December albums so I really wanted to still include it!
I also used this amazing set of stamps called slim jim by Kellie Stamps. I love these stamps so so much, I think they are set to become a staple in my stamp collection. I love that they are so versitle. I am wanting to play with colouring them in and embossing with them!!
I kept the opposite page just really simple and just stuck down the hello twinkle onto some of the paper that cam in the kit!

Christmas Challenge #45: December Daily Cover and Intentions

Phew I am finally getting this up here! So this is my December Daily Album. This year I went with a traditional look and I got the main kit and two other kits, you can find out all about December Daily here from its creator Ali Edwards!
I'm only just finishing up on my December Daily from last year, I still have Christmas day and boxing day to go but other than that I mostly did it during December last year, isn't it amazing how the year can get away from us! eeek!
I added some glitter felt on the front cover and added the word twinkle because our theme for this year is 'The sound of Stars'.

I have kept the inside cover page very simple and then I have added my intentions to the front cover so that I can see them there all December. I'm hoping that helps to keep them in the front of my mind.

I'm so glad to be doing December Daily again this year, it really does help to focus your attention on the joy that is the December season. I hope that I always find the joy this season!

Cocoa Vanilla: Free Sprit: So Happy

I'm still playing with my cocoa vanilla free spirit scrappy stuff. This time I decided to use some watercolours, so I painted those colours that run down the left side of the page.
I had fun mixing colours that were similar to those in the range, I love mixing colours, then added a few ink splatters on top of the watercolours. I love watercolours because they are so easy to play with, if you have never done any painting then watercolours are a great place to start. I picked this set up at Big W but you can pretty much pick up a decent set at any art or craft store, these ones cost me about $15. You can play with different techniques and with mixing your own colours. I simply adhered the cut file on top of the watercolour painting that I had done.
There is a tag with journalling that slips behind the photo and other than that I kept it fairly simple.
I finished it up with other bits and pieces from the free spirit range.

She Scraps: Cocoa Vanilla: Colour Me Happy

I'm loving using the collection of colour me happy by cocoa vanilla as a kit, the same way I have been using the Free Sprit collection. I sometimes find it so much easier to be restricted by what I allow myself to use rather than being able to use all the things!
I'm having a little trouble getting this white page to be all white with my camera but I think you get the gist ;)
I have been playing with my delusions mists on this one and I love how bight the colours are in the range of ink mists! Im looking forward to playing with them more.

I kept this one pretty simple, I die cut the xoxo and then backed it with the papers and then just punched some hearts from the same papers.
As you can see I'm still loving scrapping with small photos, Im not sure this love affair is going to end anytime soon!

She Scraps: Silhouette Cut Files

I finished this one a few weeks ago but am only just getting it up here. I was worried that the photos of it weren't good enough but oh well they will be what they are. Life has been busy here and the daylight hours are still short. :)
I've been playing with my silhouette and glueing pieces of paper behind the cut files because you know, it's fun!
I think I used some simple stories paper, some old studio calico doilies and some large white sequins, I'm still loving them!
And again using some instax photos, loving scrapping with smaller photos!

She Scraps: Cocoa Vanilla- Free Spirit #2

This time I used the free spirit collection to create a page with some fringing. I'm still really loving fringing, Im loving seeing it all around the place and I thought the free spirit range was just sweet enough to use this technique with.
I'm also in love with the background piece I use which is covered in the cutest tiny words!I honestly can't get enough of taking selfies with these peeps!

I embellished with a couple of cut files, such pretty flowers! And a few little hearts that I punched from some glittery paper.

So thats two pages fro the free spirt kit, Im really loving this kit!

She Scraps: Cocoa Vanilla- Free Spirt

Hello! Im here today with a scrappy share! I am just loving the cocoa vanilla, free spirit range, all the colours are just so gorgeous!!It's always a good scrappy day when you get to scrap with colours you just love!
This one began with the stitched grid on it, I love a good grid ;) I'm also really loving scrapping with smaller photos lately, these install photos are of my cute little niece- she's awesome! She was showing me how she can do the splits then spent the rest of the time cartwheeling through the house!!
I've pretty mushed used everything from the kit and then added just a few bits and pieces- the blue butterfly is a martha stwert punch and some large white sequins and just that xoxo stamp.
I just love how that navy colour pops with the other colours in the range and I have to say that those little resin hearts might just be my favourite embellishment ever!
So Il'l be back later today with a christmas challenge share, see you then!

She Scraps! With Painted Hearts!

Hi! Ive been a absent a little longer than I thought I had, mostly because Ive been so busy scrapbooking that I forgot to share them here, the good news is that I have a tonne to share! During the school holidays my boys and I spent nearly every day in the craft room, we made so many fun things but they were mostly hoooked on snail mail and making postcards for friends.

The other reason I haven't been here is that my computer died, like really, so I finally got a new fancy one!with a new computer my craft room had to have a little makeover and we have now been spending a heap of time in here together! There is now enough room for the boys to be in here too which is awesome!

So this layout was so fun to make, I used my die citing machine and  some kaiser craft heart dies to create these layers of hearts in a grid pattern. I cut them for some paper that I had painted and then added lots of fun other little bits and pieces including tulle, curtain fabric, wash tape, wool, buttons, wood veneer, lace and even some cork! The title and the journal card are from Amy Tangerine line better together and the paper behind the photos is some from the Heidi Swapp minc range that I left black just because I liked it!

I stitched the white yardstick onto some kaisercraft yellow paper and Im loving the pop of yellow it gives to the page!
Loving how this page turned out! I'll be back soon with so much more to share!

She Scraps

I'm really starting to catch up on my Album for this year, I still need to go back and finish up some things from last year but for this year I am getting closer to being caught up. Its a great feeling to feel like you are making progress!
Although the fact that I've been scrapping a lot lately means that I'm filling up my album fast and I'm about to start my second album, this year could end up being a three album year! My most have been two albums in a year. Last year I ended up with one not quite finished album and a not quite finished December Daily Album. I'm thinking that I need to make  a bit of time to get those albums done!
So anyway...Im loving how this layout of my friends and I turned out! I've used mostly Kaisercraft finders keepers collection that I picked up at spotlight. Also those little wooden button type things are from a freckled fawn kit, aren't they just so pretty!

This last one is from Easter Sunday, and yes that is my sons crazy face, lol!I used a die to cut all of those butterflies and a Martha Stewart punch for the smaller ones. Those boys, they are  lots of fun!
What have you been making?

She Scraps- Side By Side

My Autistic son Luke he loves scissors and glue- like sometimes I wonder if he likes scissors and glue even more than me. I  challenged myself to scrap side by side with him, not easy- have you ever scrapped with your kids?
So the easiest way to start was to each pick some things out and just scrap with those things. Luke just went for it, he began cutting and sticking down, he added layer upon layer and created such a fun page.

He was SUPER proud of himself!! Can you tell ?! ha haa
It was so awesome watching him just cut and stick, of course he just had to put his name on it and that is two love hearts next to his name, he stuffed up the first one so he just went for it again.
I just had to scrap a photo of Luke and I together, I used the Amy Tangerine better together collection with a little freckled fawn in there.
There will be many more pages from Luke in the future, he has been asking me all week to scrapbook. He's Awesome!!

She Scraps- Six in One minus One!

The other day I challenged myself to create SIX layouts in ONE day, the most that I've ever done in one day is about 4. Usually I will only get one done in a day so six was a stretch!
This post only has five of the pages because one of the pages was done side by side with my little guy Luke who happens to be Autistic and one of his favorite things to do is make- especially cutting and glueing, any way I will pop that up in my next post.

Pretty much every layout was done by grabbing five- I've been super inspired by Inkie Quill's totally awesome grab five videos you can see them here! This top one was using Dear Lizzy Happy Place, I'm loving this collection- the colours are just so me! I love how fun and bright it is!Oh and I created that painty circle by painting on the edge of a paper plate and then stamping it on the page- so fun!

I really wanted to use a large hand cut title on this one. Loving this picture of my Son and Hubby on his birthday and love that I happened to have some doughnut stickers ( I think they are Amy Tangerine?) Since my Hubby wanted doughnuts for his cake.
There is a whole pile of Freckled Fawn on this one, I had no idea how I was going to use those arrows because I didn't really love the colour of them, but I used them all up! YAY!
Oh My Gosh, how super stressful is it to scrap pictures of your favorite scrappy peeps!I had to keep reminding myself that I can print the photos again if I stuff it up but phew I think its all ok!

And finally this one is going in the birthday album! Woo Hooo! So glad that is ticked off of my to do list!
You know what is awesome about grabbing five products and having to use them? You actually use them!!! I know crazy right?
